Getting into the Christmas spirit early this year is our pupil Rebecca Hanneman, who has joined the cast of CBeebies’ The Nutcracker!

CBeebies staged their Christmas production at Sheffield Theatres’ Crucible this weekend, where it was filmed for broadcast in this year’s festive TV season. All our favourite people from CBeebies are appearing in this magical show like Justin Fletcher, Cat Sandion and Ben Faulks.

Working to promote the show, our very own Rebecca Hanneman joined the CBeebies’ festival in Sheffield, where she joined the ‘toy makers’ was a doll who came to life (en pointe)! They performed a small ten minute show every two hours over the course of the weekend, meaning a total of 12 shows overall.

Becky said:

It’s my first paid dance job and it was such an amazing experience. I met most of the production team who work with CBeebies and the presenters who are on telly!

Well done Rebecca, we’re sure you made a pretty magical ballerina doll!

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

2016.06.20Many a congratulation to our pupils who are now part of the juvenile chorus in Sheffield Theatres and Evolution Pantomimes’ production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

Maddie Dunn, Maisie Ganley, Lucy Holcroft, Megan Moore, Leila Steer, Megan Thorpe, Lilli Walker, Renée Warren and Aliyah Xaba will be pounding the floorboards this Christmas at the Sheffield Lyceum alongside panto favourite Damian Williams and Coronation Street’s Wendi Peters.

Well done to all the girls who auditioned for the show, you all continue to do us very proud.

All Aboard the Magic Carpet!

Lifting off from Sheffield’s Lyceum this Christmas will be Prince Ali and now, after an extremely successful audition, nine Berry Babes will be joining him on his magic carpet.

Aladdin is this year’s Christmas pantomime, co-produced by Evolution Pantomimes and Sheffield Theatres. It will run from December 2014 – January 2016. With the most of the star cast yet to be announced, we do know that Sheffield’s favourite dame, Damian Williams, will be returning to play Aladdin’s mum, Widow Twankey.

A day of auditions saw over 260 hopefuls dance their hearts out in order to join the children’s chorus. We are so proud of all our pupils who auditioned and did their best, and would like to congratulate Eva Cadet, Maddie Dunn, Maisie Ganley, Lucy Holcroft, Eleanor Jackson, Megan Moore, Megan Thorpe, Renee Warren and Aliyah Xaba who will be treading the boards of the Lyceum this Christmas.

Well done to all who auditioned and we can’t wait to watch our Berry Babes in December!
